Dolce (pronounced ドルチェ, Doruche) is a idol unit of five that appears in the greater HoneyWorks shared universe. While not considered Idol Series characters, they make occasional cameos in Confession Executive Committee media and perform with the Idol Series cast in HoneyWorks Premium Live.

Background[]

While they were first introduced in 2017, and have been featured in various forms of media since (such as their digital comic and the Nade Nade (2017) MV, the latter of which features two of the members), their first MV as a full group was Baby Baby (2019).
In-universe, Dolce was formed as a result of an idol audition made by Egg Records, alongside the idol unit "Sakura Michi". Excluding Fuuma and Kazuki, who were chilhood friends, none of the members had met before. Sara disliked Fuuma at first because of his peculiar way of dressing and Fuuma was annoyed by Sara's cold personality[1], but eventually they all became friends.
They have a male manager, but his name, age and other personal information are still unknown.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The word "Dolce" means "Candy/Sweet" in Italian.
  • All of the members surnames are references to fairy tale characters:
    • Fuuma's is taken from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
    • Kazuki's is taken from Cinderella.
    • Sara's is taken from Rapunzel.
    • Kippei's is taken from The Sleeping Beauty.
    • Girisha's is taken from The Little Mermaid.
  • Dolce's story allegedly takes place later on than the rest of the Idol Series does (excluding the 17-Sai MV).[1]
  • Dolce's motifs are wolves, so their main performance outfits have wolf ears and tails, and they wear wolf inspired outfits in some official art work.
