LIP×LIP (pronounced リップリップ, lip lip) is a fictional musical duo, consisting of teen idols Yujiro and Aizo (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama and Nobunaga Shimazaki respectively). Beginning in 2016 with their debut song Romeo, the duo have since gone on to provide music for the Confession Executive Committee ~Love Series~. In-universe, they first appeared as a unit in the background of the PV for Nichiyoubi no Himitsu.

The pair has also provided music for projects out-of-universe, such as "Nonfantasy" as the OP of Our Love Has Always Been 10 Centimeters Apart., the single "Repaint" for the live-action series Aoharu Kokou 3-nen C-gumi, "Koi wo Shiyou" for the Koi Tsuru Hada Kyun advertising campaign, "Yume Fanfare" for the animated series Hashiritsuzukete Yokattatte, and "Yappa Saikyou!" for the 2019 Commercial Food High School Grand Prix.

Background

In universe, the duo was a result of auditionees Yujiro Someya and Aizo Shibasaki passing an audition for a spot under the HoneyWorks label. Yujiro and Aizo had no experience with each other prior to the audition, but they quickly came to work together come their first performance.
They consider themselves rivals, but they also share a deep respect for each other.

Trivia

  • Members of their fanbase are known as "Juliettas".
  • Both Yujiro and Aizo share the same birthday, February 22.
  • When it comes to Vocaloid versions of their songs, Hatsune Miku is always used for Yujiro's parts, while GUMI is consistently used for Aizo's parts.
  • Initially, Yujiro and Aizo had a 2cm height difference (at 158 to 160 respectively), but future interviews and information would update it to have Aizo be 5 centimeters taller at 167cm to Yujiro's 160cm. Yappa Saikyou! acknowledges the gap by showing a picture of Aizo bragging about it during the photo montage.
  • Both characters like the opposite animal; while Yujiro prefers dogs, Aizo prefers cats.
