"Otome-domo yo." is a side story in Confession Executive Committee, in particular to the Love Series; and is a sequel to "Heart no Shuchou". The song focuses on Arisa Takamizawa's former middle school classmate Karen Miura and how she dealt with high school life and love.

This was originally performed by CHiCO with HoneyWorks as the opening theme for the anime adaptation of O Maidens in Your Savage Season, and is the title track of the single of the same name.

Karen's development in Misuzu High School continues in the PV for "Minikui Ikimono".

Lyrics[]

In this book, a volume born of love,
the single word "love" still isn't written.

It was a boring 15 pages.
When I turned to the next page, it took my breath away like I'd drowned.
This feeling that's inexpressible in words
unfairly knocked me down again today.

I was squeaky clean, I didn't want to know
the real nature of this pain.

However,
even if I get hurt, I won't stop reading.
I can't be pretty
on the page where I get to know you.
Be rough, maidens! Struggle on, maidens!
Go and learn what pain is.
You don't need a bookmark.

Even if were to go out, what are we supposed to do?
Do we have to do "that"? No way! I can't!
Troubled by this right thing they call a pure heart,
I got tossed around by the "opposite sex" again today.

Even so, surely I'll love someone
and turn to the next page.

It's definitely
not wrong. I won't be scared of change.
Even if I was laughed at in the past, I'll stick up my middle finger.
Puff your chest out, maidens! Fight on, maidens!
It won't always be tears.
Your heart is warm.

If I keep reading, there's a new pain to come.
It's something I'm not used to, but it seems I can have a good time.

Maidens will go on falling in love again today
often passing each other by, often gazing at each other.
There might be a tomorrow when I'll connect to someone
who I still don't know or haven't even met.

Therefore,
even if I get hurt, I won't stop reading.
I can't be pretty
on the page where I get to know "love".
Be rough, maidens! Struggle on, maidens!
Go and learn what pain is.
You don't need a bookmark.
Well then, onto the next page.

Trivia[]

  • The series the song is written for, O Maidens in Your Savage Season, cameos in two scenes:
    • One scene has Karen reading a book in class; upon closer inspection, it's a heavily filtered version of the cover of an O Maidens in Your Savage Season manga volume.
    • Towards the end of the PV, the store Karen enters has a poster of the anime adaptation's key visual (around 3:06).
  • The gap between Karen's appearance in the PVs at their first release is 3 years, following her appearance in "Koi-Iro ni Sake".
  • This PV contains the first explicit vulgarity in the franchise (Karen giving the middle finger to her middle school self).
